While the high Himalayas makes up Nepal 's northern
region, the southern lowland known as the Terai is covered with
dense tropical jungles teeming with diverse wildlife and exotic
birds. Here you will find some of the most exciting safari destination
in the world. You will be going into deep jungle on elephant back
or four-wheel drive vehicle to view wild animals in their natural
habitat. Other thrills are canoe rides on the Jungle Rivers , nature
walks, bird watching excursions and village tours. Among the 14 national parks and wildlife reserves
in the Kingdom, Royal Chitwan National Park (932 Sq. km.), Koshi
Tappu Wildlife Reserve (175 sq. km.) and Royal Bardiya National
Park (968 sq. km.) are equipped with wildlife safari tour facilities
as well as tourist standard accommodation Royal Chitwan National Park is situated in the southern terrain (lowland) of Nepal . Chitwan -meaning the heart of the jungle is one of the finest wildlife reserves in the Asia . Originally set up as wild life conservation park, is enriched by more than 400 spices of the birds, over 70 species of wild animals including endangered Royal Bangal tiger, one horned rhino, Sloth Beers, Gharial and many more. The park is easily accessible from 2 main tourist destination Kathmandu and Pokhara; by air, bus or after Short River rafting. It has been known as most popular jungle tour destination in Nepal . Just outside the buffer zone of the park is home of culturally rich Tharu people. Along with the jungle tour on elephant back safari, cultural tours into those Tharu villages are worthy. Short package tour of 2-4 day's combined with 1-2 day's rafting trip is very popular to visit the park. People who don't want to get into raft and thrill in the river rapids can go directly to the park by ground transport or by air. Package Safari Tours in different modes. Royal Bardiya National Park The Bardiya Park is situated in the far west terai of Nepal . From the wildlife and eco-system point of view, this park is not significantly different than Chitwan but, this is least explored and not crowded, because of it's distance from Kathmandu or from Pokhara. The 10 day's world class river rafting trip ends right at the Bardiya park or one can take long drive from Kathmandu or fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj to reach in the park. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve The Reserve covers 175 Sq. KM Meters. It was established in 1996. Numerous water holes and marshes make this one of the finest birding areas in Nepal . The grasslands support an important population of the Asiatic buffalo. |

Tentative Itinerary For 2 Nights 3 Days
Bird Watching & Safari: Day 1: Arrival and brief introduction of the facility and program. After lunch Bird walk in the marshland outside the reserve to see the storks, ibises, snipes, waterfowl, birds of prey etc. and Slide show on the natural history of the reserve followed by Nepali dinner.
Note: Program could be tailor made according to the interest of the guest. Special sport fishing activities are available upon request Tentative Itinerary For Three Nights Four-Day Bird Watching & Safari: Day 1: Arrival and brief introduction of the facility and program. After lunch Bird walk in the marshland outside the reserve to see the storks, ibises, snipes, waterfowl, birds of prey etc.and Slide show on the natural history of the reserve followed by Nepali dinner. Day 2: After Breakfast full day excursion on boat and four wheels drive with pack lunch to see waders, waterfowl, birds of prey, marsh crocodile, otters, wild water buffalo and Gangetic Dolphins including a visit to Pink Tower (full day) and Cultural dance followed by barbecue dinner. Day 3: After Breakfast Bird walk inside the reserve in the scrub forest, grasslands and wetland habitat with pack lunch to see swamp partridge, black-necked stork, buntings, bulbuls etc. We have Pack lunch and Continue bird watching or optional elephant ride to watch Arna the wild water buffalo, blue bull, hog deer, fishing eats etc. And Stargazing in the evening followed by . The Package Price includes: meals, accommodations, park permit, guide fees, bus fare to/from Kathmandu and jeep transfer to/from Ambassa (the pick up point on the highway for the guest who travels on bus to Bardia), all jungle activities (as stated above in the program details). The Package Price does not include: soft drinks, alcoholic drinks or mineral water. Extra order of food smacks must be paid for in the hotel as per the menu price. Travelers can also make this trip flying to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. If traveler wish to fly to Nepalgunj, the airfare and the airport pick up by jeep (optionally) is extra. |
