Langtang & Helambu Trekking via Gyanja La Pass
Maximum Altitude: 5120 meters
Duration of Trek: 9 days mountain lodge + 2 days camping over the pass.
The trek commences with an overland journey to Syabru Bensi where we overnight . The following four days are full of beautiful scenery with forests of oak, rhododendron and pine slotted between ancient settlements. Above the tree line, the valley widens providing splendid views of Langtang Lirung (7400 meters).It is in the main a gradual climb passing through the major settlement of Langtang and onwards to Kyangjin in the high valley, our trekking destination. An extra day is spent here for taking in the high mountain scenery and some further exploration of the extensive glacier system.
From Kyangjin Gompa, one day is taken reaching the foot of Gyanja-La where we rest a night for acclimatization and to assess the weather conditions. All being well, the next morning we push on high to cross the pass before making a steep descent. The following two days are under canvas away from human settlements. On the third day we reach Sermathang, a beautiful Sherpa village in the Helambu region where for overnight. The next morning, we descend to Melamchi bazaar before the journey back to Kathmandu . A trek offering some wonderful alpine scenery coupled with some strenuous high mountain trekking of the Gyanja La.

Day 03: Drive, Kathmandu / Syabrubesi (8 hours)
Day 04: Syabrubesi / Lama Hotel (2480 m.)
Day 05: Lama Hotel / Langtang village (3541 m.)
Day 06: Langtang / Kyangjin Gompa (3900 m.)
Day 07: Rest day in Kyangjin Gompa
Day 08: Cross Ganja-La pass (5120m) and trek to Gangri (4400m)
Day 09 & 10: Forest camps
Day 11: Tarke Ghyang (2550m)
Day 12: Tarke Ghyang / Sermathang (2300m)
Day 13: Trek to Melamchi Pul - travel Kathmandu - transfer hotel
Day 14: At leisure in Kathmandu
Day 15: Transfer airport -flight to your onward destination |
