Gokyo Lake and Renjo
Gokyo Lake is located immediately west of the Khumbu valley, it is much less traveled or developed than the main trail. The Gokyo valley is dominated at its head by the massive and almost over baring form of Cho-Oyu (8153 meters). From Gokyo we ascend to Gokyo Ri (two hours) for some spectacular views before heading out westward to Renjo-La pass. After crossing the Renjo pass we further trek to Thame village and eventually retrace to Lukla via the main trail.
